Five-star home of Unibet bookie could make your heart flutter

‘Kaylana’, a five-bedroom home in Kenthurst owned by Unibet bookmaker Mark Morrisey, is probably the sort of luxury home his punters imagine a huge win might net them. That’s because it’s a luxury three-level abode set on five acres with an enviable list of features: double-size bedrooms, two triple garages, dedicated poker room, wine cellar, gym, glass elevator between floors, underfloor heating, a three-metre in-wall tropical fish tank, pool with swim-up bar bordered by fountains and waterfalls, hand-carved sandstone amphitheatre, and many more. The home also has stunning views of the nearby Blue Mountains. The listing and property video, by Ray White Dural, can be seen here.

This uninhabitable cottage with overgrown garden sold over the weekend – for $2.68m

Balmain East cottage

This crumbling cottage with unkempt garden and bare interiors sold over the weekend – for $2.68million. That’s likely due to the fact that the home – built in 1854 – is set on 450sqm of land in Balmain East, has beautiful views of Sydney Harbour Bridge, comes with a waterfront garden and was described by the agents at Belle Property as an “unpolished gem”. The property last sold in 1973 for $33,500 to celebrated lecturer Alexander Watson, who died earlier this year. The weekend onsite auction had 18 contracts issued before it commenced, and the bidding started at $1.8million – quite impressive considering its disrepair, as the average house price in the area is around $2million. Super-sleek, super-chic home in Buderim designed by award-winners Ultraspace

A home now on the market via Century 21 Grant Smith was created by designers they admire so greatly that they also entrusted them with their office interiors. The award-winning international team at Ultraspace – who designed the stunning, sleek and ultra-modern four-bedroom home in Buderim – were also responsible for the visually arresting reception at the agency’s offices on King Street (see below). The distinct Los Angeles-inspired visual style is definitely put to the forefront at the Sawreys Road residence, which goes to auction on Saturday 11th October. An example of luxury private bushland living, the home comes with a library, gymnasium, suspended fireplace, extra-large double remote garage and more, all just four minutes from Buderim CBD. This incredible-looking four-bedroom home in WA is on the market, having recently been restored. The four-bedroom art deco house is heritage listed, and is on over 1,000 square metres of land. This cottage goes to auction today – and is expected to sell for $2m+

richmond cottage

It may not look like it, but this cottage is on the market with hopes of over $2million dollars – which it may well get when it goes to auction today. That’s because the 135 year-old cottage in Richmond, Melbourne comes with a site that is earmarked for the development of four new luxury townhouses. Planning permission has already been granted, although one of the townhouses will have to incorporate the derelict cottage itself. The property and its 770+ square metre block were last sold in 2012, which had a reserve of $1.5million, and at the auction five competing developer syndicates took the winning bid to over $1.62million. This all bodes well for today’s auction, to be held by Biggin & Scott. View the listing … Continue reading

Heritage-listed beach mansion in Cottesloe on the market, hoping for $50m+

Tukurua, a coastal mansion in Cottesloe with 21 rooms, is currently on the market – and speculation says it could go for over $50million.  The heritage-listed home, which comes with a 5,000 square metre undeveloped block on the beachfront, was built in 1896 for WA’s first attorney-general, Sir Septimus Burt. The large number of rooms – including ten bedrooms – was to accommodate his family of ten children. The property was valued at $4million in 1994, but then underwent a $5million renovation over a six-year period. View the property here.

Masterchef home sells before auction in Brighton, possibly for $5m

The six-bedroom property that was home to contestants during Channel Ten’s most recent Masterchef series has been bought before its scheduled auction, reportedly by an offshore investor. It is expected to have been purchased above the $5million hopes that were attributed to it. Agents Marshall White have said there was great interest in the Brighton abode during their marketing campaign. When not filming the gastronomic gameshow and “cooking for their survival”, the 24 Masterchef contestants were accommodated in the Peter Carmichael-designed home which had many features to help them relax – including a home cinema, play room, swimming pool, spa and gymnasium. There’s also a security surveillance system installed, and a garage with room for six cars, plus the local beach is just at the end of the street. So even for … Continue reading
