A surfers paradise on The Sunshine Coast

Bob Cooper’s boards have carried surfers on waves all over the world and now he and wife Wils’ beautiful surf-side home at Marcus Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is on the market.   Bob’s trade as a board shaper began in California before Australian waves lured him and led to a long professional career with the likes of Barry Bennett and Hayden Kenny, and his own business.   After 26 years raising a family and running his own successful venture in Coffs Harbour, he and Wils retired to the Sunshine Coast 17 years ago and built their Steven Kidd-designed Santa Fe-style villa on a beach fronting block with ocean views from the home and pool.   It was romance that drew them back to the … Continue reading

Billionaire snaps up Balmoral’s Kahala

Ros Oatley-Lambert, the wife of the former Southcorp wine chief Keith Lambert, has snapped up their neighbouring Balmoral harbour front property, Kahala, to improve their boating facilities. The Lamberts own the adjoining Rivendell, which is set on a 2,000-square-metre double block. The sale price has not been revealed but it last traded for $22.5 million in pre-global financial crisis 2007 and was therefore expected to sell through Raine & Horne Mosman for less in the current subdued market. It’s speculated the price was above $18 million, perhaps just shy of $19 million. Bertini and his former wife, Heather, bought Kahala from the successful veteran property developer Phil Arnold, who’d owned it … Continue reading
