Southern Silvers Native Fish has 11 ponds in operation; 9 of these are 80m x 40m in size, holding 4megs of water, while the remaining 2 are 60m x 40m in size. Approvals are in place to expand by a further 2Ha of ponds if desired by the new owners, and could be converted to Murray Cod grow out or any other native species.
All ponds are fully enclosed under a bird netting canopy, totally covering the 5ha fish farm site. Each pond is equipped with both single and three phase power outlets supplying power to paddle wheel aerators and automated pond feeders respectively. The site is monitored 24/7 by state of the art digital dissolved oxygen system. Waste water from the ponds is discharged into a recycling canal where it can be recycled within the fish farm or reused to irrigation water to grow crops on the remaining farm area. Highly effective aeration systems and extensive water reticulation make for efficient operation.
To enable post harvest handling there fully equipped live fish holding and purge facility housing a 25,000L live fish holding and purge system including 2000Lt S/S bead filter and UV sterilizer. Also within the purge building there is a fully equipped lab room, with all necessary water test equipment including benches, sink, microscope, etc. There is also fully insulated packing and dispatch room, cool room, including large flake ice maker, S/S packing table, gas hot water, etc. The application of automated systems where practical has led to improvements in stock security, farm management, farm production and workload urgency involved in daily operation of the fish farm. A father/son or husband/wife partnership could easily manage the property and while maintaining a relaxed country lifestyle.

In addition to the active production of Silver Perch, the property boasts approximately 28 Ha of fenced, lasered, pipe-line irrigated paddocks currently sewn to pastures and presently utilised for beef cattle production.
